Our Itinerary: Stops and Marvels of the Guided Tour
Our guided tour is designed to show you the very best of Asinara, combining breathtaking nature, history, and unique encounters. In the following sections, you’ll discover in detail all the stops that make this day unforgettable, from our departure from Stintino to meeting the famous white donkeys.
Step 1: Departure from Stintino and Meeting the Guide
The adventure begins at 9:00 AM from the Stintino pier, where you will board the ferry to Fornelli. On board, you will meet our expert guide, who will accompany you throughout the day, revealing the island’s secrets.
Step 2: Visit to Historical and Natural Sites
Once ashore, we will explore the evocative Fornelli prison complex and stop at Cala Reale to visit the ancient lazaretto and the sea turtle recovery center an exciting experience for all ages.
Step 3: Discovery of Cala d’Oliva and Scenic Break
We will then move towards Cala d’Oliva, the small inhabited village on the island, where we will visit the “Falcone e Borsellino” prison branch. Along the way, we will stop at the best panoramic spots to admire picture-perfect landscapes and for your packed lunch break.
Step 4: Encounter with Local Wildlife and Return
The tour is a true photo safari! We will have a close encounter with the famous white donkeys, the symbol of Asinara, and with a bit of luck, we might spot mouflons and other wild animals. The return to Stintino is scheduled between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
